Not Big Sur Star Trails

2013.02.01
Day One Hundred and Twelve. Went down to Big Sur to shoot some star trails. When we stopped for dinner, Mother Nature presented us with an absolutely stunning array of colours during the sunset. Little did we know, this was to be the highlight of the evening. By the time we made it down to the campsite, the fog had rolled in so thick, there was precisely zero chance of getting any star trails. The last image in this set was the one and only star shot taken that night. It looked like the fog was beginning to break, so I snapped a quick test shot to get my exposure right. I didn't even have time to focus before the fog completely blocked out the sky again. Oh well. You can't win them all ;)
