Norfolk & VA Beach From the Air

2017.08.16
Day Two Hundred and Eighty Four. Fun fact: my neighbor is a pilot, a pretty cool guy, and just so happens to own a plane! So, we hopped in and took to the skies. Not so fun fact: it's really hard to stabilize a 70-200mm zoom lens when it's sticking out of the window of an airplane, haha. We did a couple of laps around Downtown Norfolk, got clearance to make the run down to Virginia Beach, then circled back to fly over our still-under-construction neighborhood. He also gave me a mini-flying lesson while we were safely in the middle of nowhere. Super fun day. Challenging shoot, given the speed at which we were flying around, and the vibration of having my lens sticking out of the window of a moving airplane, but super fun nonetheless!
