Fuji Sunrise & Sunset
2019.01.03
Day Three Hundred and Twenty. Popped over to Fujikawaguchiko for (slightly after) New Year's. Though it was perhaps a tad colder than I usually appreciate, waking up before dawn to do the mandatory Mt. Fuji sunrise session was totally worth it. Then, later in the day, we hiked up to the Mt. Mitsutoge Peak Viewing Platform, which offers two absurdly stunning views. On one side is (of course) Mt. Fuji. On the other side are the Southern Alps and the Misaka mountains! Mind-blowing hike 😄
This set took forever to publish because I violated one of my (many) golden rules: It doesn't matter how stunning the view is, don't just sit there and take the same picture over and over again; you'll hate yourself in post. Well, the view was stunning, so I just sat there and took the same picture over and over again. And, to the surprise of no one, choosing between an inordinately large number of substantially the same image is ... painful. And, even still, I kept (probably) too many.
PS, no, your eyes don't need to get checked; yes, the last picture is out of focus. I deeply apologize for that; something went sideways in the focus for every single photo I took of the Southern Alps, and I couldn't bring myself to delete every image of a view I'm unlikely to ever see again. I have no idea what went wrong there, so please don't make the same mistake I did. Be sure to check the focus before you leave the area. **le sigh**
