Point Arena Lighthouse

2012.06.21
Day Sixty Five. The last little mini-set from the Northern California trip. There were a few more planned stops further north, but the weather decided that it was going to cooperate, so I snapped a few shots and jumped right back in the car to head home. There was a natural arch about a half mile from the lighthouse, but I was so cold after doing the few long exposures already that I just couldn't bring myself to care. The wind was also making long exposures difficult. If you compare the first two photographs, you'll quickly notice that the long exposure is significantly softer than the first shot (short exposure?). I guess I need a sturdier tripod if I want to do more long exposure work in adverse weather conditions. I've got an awesome one (and an equally awesome joystick head) picked out if someone wants to throw $600 at me ;)
