Meteor Crator

2013.11.05
Day One Hundred and Forty Seven Part II. And Day 4 of our Epic Cross Country Road Trip continues ... for science! Our next major stop was a meteor crater so big I was unable to capture its entirety at 14mm. Learning very definitely happened in the museum, but to be completely honest, good pictures of the crater simply can not be captured from the ground. The best pictures of it are all taken from the air. It's simply too vast with as close as the pathways keep you. Altitude is your friend here and unless you can fly, your pictures are going to be disappointing. My recommendation, visit for the science, not for the pictures, unless, of course, a helicopter/hot air balloon is in your plan for the day :)
