Horseshoe Bend

2013.11.07
Day One Hundred and Forty Nine Part II. And the second half of Day 6 of our Epic Cross Country Road Trip! After spending most of the day in Monument Valley, we raced across the highway to get to Horseshoe Bend before sunset. Since we weren't going to get to see the Grand Canyon on this trip, Horseshoe Bend was going to be our "close enough" ... and though there's really only one image to capture here, it truly is a spectacular one, so I'm super happy we made it before the light disappeared. I could have spent hours here, just staring at its magnificence, but alas, the bugs were getting gnarly and it was very definitely dinner time, so I begrudgingly packed up my gear and made the hike back to the car, looking back over my shoulder with every step.
