Costa Rican River Boat Tour

2016.03.09
Day Two Hundred and Forty Two. This set was a challenge from start to finish. (A) Shooting with a telephoto lens from a moving boat in rapidly changing light conditions is hard. (B) Editing photos that were taken with a telephoto lens from a moving boat in rapidly changing light conditions is hard, haha. I normally shoot from a tripod. This gives me time to really think about things like composition and camera settings. When you're on a boat, you put the camera in aperture-priority mode, crank up the vibration reduction, point it in the general direction of something cool, and hope for the best.

On the back end, since the source material wasn't anywhere near my usual quality, I decided to experiment a lot, just to see what I could get these images to do. I pushed color twisting about as hard as you can in Lightroom and really worked hard with the new Color and Luminance range masking. I went pretty far off the beaten path here, so let me know what you think!
