Lake Tahoe Stars

2013.01.20
Day One Hundred and Nine. We were significantly more prepared for the Tahoe level cold of mid January this time. We headed over to the Emerald Bay Vikingsholm Trail Trailhead, I got the camera all set up ... then the sitting began. Star trails by themselves aren't the most exciting thing to shoot, but when you're with an old friend you haven't seen in years, it's much more exciting. Eventually, we got up and did part of the hike we were at the trailhead for, but turned around after only going about half way since the snow had gotten up to our waist, making it rather difficult to take the next step. All told, we spent about two hours hiking and napping in the snow. It was a great evening that produced some awesome star trails :D
