Big Island Day 5

2014.05.23
Day One Hundred and Eighty. Waipio Valley is an absolutely stunning location. I could have spent all day here ... if only there were a cheeseburger stand. I did some more work with the Formatt-Hitech filters for Nikon's 14-24mm. It's not easy to get right. I'm having quite a bit of trouble with light leaks, which you can see a bit of in the darker long exposure looking back into the valley. And, depending on which direction the sun is coming from, I'm also getting some nasty color shifting. Compare the the two shots looking either direction down the beach. Both sides of the valley should have been the same color. The two water falls in this set are Akaka Falls and Rainbow Falls. Next time, we need to spend a lot more time exploring Waipio!
