Beware of Burnout

Social media is a grind. Success is a marathon, not a sprint. It took me years of dedicated, unflinching, daily effort to earn the following I have. Tens of thousands of followers will not appear overnight.

Honestly, at this point, you've got about as much chance of having millions of followers as you do of producing a number one selling album or becoming a movie star. For the rest of us, which probably includes you, we have to fight for every follower we get. And that takes a lot of work. It takes an inordinate amount of work.

You'll have days where you feel like you're on top of the world. Then there will be entire weeks where you can't bring yourself to respond to a single comment. You'll want to hide from the world. You'll question why you're doing all this. What's the point of all this effort?

But then you'll get over it and get back to the grind. Engagement is the key to success. Engagement takes effort. A lot of effort. So, be prepared to put in the work. Be aware of burnout. And, be ready to dive right back in. Success is not for the weak. Success is for the driven. Never quit!

Everybody wants to be famous, but nobody wants to do the work. I live by that. At the end of the day, you put all the work in, and eventually it'll pay off. It could be in a year, it could be in 30 years. Eventually, your hard work will pay off.
