The Moon

2018.04.26
Day Three Hundred and Four. After being stunned by the moon last weekend, I caught it trying to sneak over the horizon without me noticing ... but notice I did and bam ... moon shot!

This was shot at 400mm with a 200mm lens and a 2x teleconverter. 400mm isn't nearly long enough to get a good picture of the moon. I still had to crop down to a handful of pixels to pretend like the moon was filling the frame. I'm also a little concerned about the sharpness of the teleconverter ... I'm seriously wondering whether I get more sharpness out of just using the 200mm and cropping harder. If you want to pixel peep, compare this shot to my moon shot from last December. The real answer is, of course, just buy a telescope ... but that's a significantly more expensive path.
