Return to Pinnacles National Monument

2012.01.15
Day Forty One. Cruised back on over to Pinnacles National Monument after hitting up REI to grab a head lamp so I could crawl around in the two caves. I LOVE THIS PARK! I got there around 9:30 in the morning and didn't leave until after 6:00. I did 18 miles and ran out of daylight (which I'm OK with, given how the last few shots came out :) ) while my car was on the other side of the mountain from where I was (which I wasn't OK with, given how bloody cold it got ... It's a good thing I had the headlamp with me, otherwise I'd probably still be on the mountain). While in the caves, I didn't use the flash. All of the light you see was provided by my (mostly) well aimed head lamp. I ended up throwing a lot of the shots away due to hand shake (or them just not looking nearly as cool as I thought they would), but it was still way more fun than should probably be legal to shoot them :). I just can't get over how amazingly awesome this park is. It took more self control than I had not to shoot the same pictures over and over again with each step ... and by that, I mean, I deleted a ton of duplicate pictures, but that's OK. This park is stunningly beautiful :)
