Day Three Hundred and Four. After being stunned by the moon last weekend, I caught it trying to sneak over the horizon without me noticing ... but notice I did and bam ... moon shot!
This was shot at 400mm with a 200mm lens and a 2x teleconverter. 400mm isn't nearly long enough to get a good picture of the moon. I still had to crop down to a handful of pixels to pretend like the moon was filling the frame. I'm also a little concerned about the sharpness of the teleconverter ... I'm seriously wondering whether I get more sharpness out of just using the 200mm and cropping harder. If you want to pixel peep, compare this shot to my moon shot from last December
. The real answer is, of course, just buy a telescope ... but that's a significantly more expensive path.
